THE MAILBOX SKETCHBOOK PROJECT

ABOUT:
The idea for this project surfaced after time having time separated from my fellow undergraduate peers and then moving to the PNW for graduate school. A traveling forum seemed like an interesting experiment to connect all these people and distances. I was interested in what kind of interaction, conversations, and collaborations would take place over the course of the projects life.
On Tuesday January 1st 2013, I started off the project by passing it off to the second participant [while in Ohio], beginning the journey of the sketchbook. Once the sketchbook was received a suggested 5 days was the time limit given to add to the contents of the sketchbook [as the participant chose to interpret] before passing the book on to the person of their choosing.
While the sketchbook has yet to complete its journey and make its way back to my procession, I had the chance to cross paths with it Washington and photographed it in progress.
RULES OF THE PROJECT:

Receive
Cross your name off the address list, and ADD to the received list so an accurate record of the sketchbooks path can be later mapped -- [If you are a friend or collaborator of the one who received the sketchbook, please add your name, city and state to the list and follow the directions below]
Contribute [draw, cut, write, collage, paint, sew, invite it to afternoon tea]. -- pages MAY be removed, altering the order but all contents must stay, therefore you must find a way to re-attach any removed pieces.
All media used must be dry before it is sent on
Pick a participant on the list that has yet to receive the sketchbook and prepare the sketchbook for the journey [If some is within walking/driving distance you have the option to personally transport the book instead of mailing] -- Order does not matter
The last participant on the mailing list should forward the finished book to my address at the top corner
